A Johannesburg-based design studio founded by Michael Constantinides (Cost) in 2020, the objective being South African inspired Luxury homeware products.
Michael Cost is a trained Architect, turned Content Creator and Digital Marketer. He comes from a long lineage of Greek and Cypriot Refugees that have been on the African continent for 5-6 Generations. From the motherland, his ancestors fled the Turkish and WWII invasions to Egypt. 3 Generations later his family fled Alexandria to Johannesburg, South Africa.
As a South African born into democracy, Michael Cost has always been intertwined with his Greek heritage and culture but also those cultures he was exposed to on a daily basis. The concept of ‘identity’ had always been one that was explored by him at an early age in order to understand what it is to be a Mediteranean African.
